For my Fashion Illustration course I was assigned to develop and illustrate a summer swimwear collection composed of a bikini set, a one piece, a coverup, and a formal attire. My collection was inspired by my love of mermaids. I began research using resources like WGSN and Pinterest, creating a mood board, rough sketches, and refining the designs. By combining ethereal details like sheers, fluid-like draping, pearl embellishments, and a classic nautical color palette I developed the following four sketches. To further the whimsical theme, I also created mermaid models to feature my designs. At the end of this project, we proposed our collections to the class.
